I know I've felt out of control of my own life many times. Now I realize I've always had a choice. It may only be a choice to react or not react to a situation. It goes back to the attitude you carry.
If you have a can do attitude, you can. If you have an, I can't, attitude, you certainly can't. It's miraculous how your attitude and posture change everything around you. Even the act of re-framing how you look at any given situation changes it.
At a critical point in my life, several years ago, I made a snap decision. This drastic choice, changed everything. I was scared to death, still, jumped in with both feet. It was hard for me and my family, but it also showed me, I did and do have a choice and I can make it work.
When it was all said and done, my marriage got better, my personal power increased and my entire outlook on life has changed for the better. It's not always the huge, jump off a cliff, choices that change you, it's the everyday, moment by moment choices. How you treat others, how you treat yourself.
Today, I can honestly say, my life is full of love, respect and hope for the future. Around my birthday, I remember being overwhelmed with the love surrounding me. My husband said: "You are just getting back what you give out." What a profound compliment. It is also a universal law: The law of reciprocity, karma, reaping and sowing, whatever you call it, it's all the same.
Fantasizing the freedom to use my choices for a better life, a better world.
