I remember the years when our children were young, running around the house hunting eggs while I cooked breakfast. Off to church in our finery. These days, at least for my children's', children it's 100 eggs in the park and a picnic. Today we will be flying kites, which sounds wonderful.
The bottom line for me is; my Jesus is surly alive. Always has been. Even when his body was in the "grave", He has been eternally ALIVE! What's more; we are too.
I work with the elderly everyday. I have yet to meet one whom recognizes this reality. Of course our bodies, housing, vehicle, becomes older and breaks down. Our bodies are not us. One day we will shed them.
When my mom died at 49, I and my three sisters attended the memorial in white, bright colors to celebrate her life. Also the fact that we knew then and still know now where she is. "Absent from the body, present with the Lord."
As this world deteriorates it is become clearer and clearer to me, and many others, His return draws near. I hear so many speak of terrors; what will we do?; God is on vacation! No dear friends, He said in his word: "FEAR NOT".
I am actually excited at the possibility He will return in my lifetime. Oh what redemption will look like then! I got goosebumps just thinking about it.
Celebrate today and everyday, for our Lord is near, even at the doorstep.
Fantasizing the freedom of release from this mortal body and eternity with Jesus!
