This morning, it's all about new beginnings. Letting go of the old and opening the window to a fresh new start. Last night I set out boxes for the Red Cross. This morning they were gone. It didn't take long to fill a few more boxes.
Saturday some guys from my son's crew are coming to help Ed remove furniture that's cluttering things up around here. Next week, tree guys are coming to trim trees and remove some dead ones. It's a good start.
Over the next few weeks, we should see some major space clear up. Starting small and going consistently, removing a little here and a little there, ads up. It seems like the more we remove, the more we see we can remove.
When my space lightens up, I feel lighter some how. Recently we've been looking at homes in the area. We felt like it was time for a change. The more we look, the more we realize what we have here is better than most we saw.
For the time being we will stay put, while working to make this home more manageable. It feels good. This society, as long as I can remember, has been about aquiring things. Getting the next best thing. Pretty soon, we're just covered in our crap. Looking around at all the meaningless things, we thought, we needed.
There is so much more joy, I find, in letting it go.
Fantasizing the freedom from the weight of things.
