Today in our weekly meeting, I had a comment. Most of the staff held their breath and laughed when I didn't say something really crass and stupid. Did I feel bad? Of course. Did I earn the reputation? Probably.
I was talking to my sister earlier. She believes she is self aware, just like me. Maybe not so much. When you make other people feel terrible, you are probably not seeing things as they really are.
When people are about helping you, or even co-existing, give them credit for buying the toilet paper, OR whatever. When we acknowledge others for their effort in life, it makes us better. Take a moment to look at how you are speaking to someone else.
Take a look at what they are contributing. Are you appreciating them? Their contribution? Their thoughtfulness?
Fantasizing the freedom to be an asshole and learn from it.
