I was sharing with my 5 year old granddaughter, Arianna how I was feeling. You see, she is a soccer player and I remember when she first started. She had some sage advice for me; "Don't worry Nana, she said, just do your best. You'll be fine." I think she's right. Fun is the name of the game and I'm sure I'll be okay as soon as we get going.
I never thought I'd be doing something like this and after two short practice sessions, I'm a bit sore. Not in as good a shape as I believed. Hopefully that will change.
Stepping out of your comfort zone and changing things up isn't always easy. It can be very rewarding though. Is there something calling to you? What's stopping you from throwing caution to the wind and jumping in?
Fear? Time? Fear? Fear is the biggest spoiler of our growth. To grow takes the courage to look at your life in an honest and fearless way. Assess where you are and where you want to be. Plot out a plan, throw your shoulders back and get moving.
Fear, I've heard, is False Evidence Appearing Real. This sport is one of the easier tasks I've taken on in a while. A welcome relief from all the gut wrenching changes I've been through over the past couple years. It's still scary and intimidating and will probably be a blast..
Don't short change yourself with doubt and fear. Enjoy the wealth that life has to offer. Try something new and see where it takes you. Fantasize the freedom to look and feel foolish to reap happiness and joy.
