Wear what you like (in good taste). I was shopping the other day. I tried on a cute top, feeling a bit like it was too "young" for me, I asked another woman around my age. She said, I wear what I like. If you like it, get it.
This past Sunday, Dr. Christiane Northrup was speaking about getting older in a whole new way. Behave the way you feel, not conforming to societal mandates. It is true, when I look in the mirror, it doesn't reflect the woman I feel and see in my mind. So, I try to avoid mirrors.
It's not that I hate the way I look, it's more that I don't want the mirror to dictate how I show up in the world. I still like to dance anywhere, any time and act silly or stand up for what I believe. The ship has sailed on my mini skirts and crop tops, but I can play kick ball, get on the floor and play with my grandchildren, lift people in my job and carry heavy objects, stand tall with my shoulders back and make an impression.
I am working on being a classic, ageless, free spirit. Fantasizing freedom from aging. Unlock the box society has locked you in and come out to play!
