Change in life happens, usually, when a change in my attitude or perspective changes. I have found the most important thing now is, everyday, do my best. Put a smile on my face and be kind.
It's easy to jump to conclusions and get riled up about something someone has done or said. The hard part is to have compassion. Try to see life from someone else's perspective, give them the benefit of the doubt.
There is nothing worse than being judged when you are only trying your best to get through life. As is everyone else.
If I want mercy and kindness, I need to give you mercy and kindness. If I feel myself getting upset with another person, it is best to tell that person. Not a colleague or other friend. I certainly do not want someone talking behind my back, so I try not to talk behind yours.
Most of the time, when I'm upset with someone or something, it is nothing more than misunderstanding anyway. Another perspective can change my feelings so quickly.
Bottom line, my best days occur when I do the right thing, do the best I can and treat others with respect. Feelings come and go. Taking a rash action, speaking and unkind word, can create a firestorm that may never go completely out.
My mother used to always tell me; "think before you speak." Well mom, it has taken a while, but I'm getting pretty good at it. Fantasizing the freedom to keep my mouth shut.
