Not wanting to exactly, but feeling like I'm ready to. As everyone knows it's hard moving forward against the wind. It's especially hard if you feel alone on the journey.
One thing I know for sure is this; perseverance pays. It got me back in shape, it got me two degrees, it got me a good job and health.
None of it was easy, as changing yourself is not easy. Oh, but it was worth every minute of the agony it took.
I remember one Christmas, Ed and I bought ourselves a video camera to capture our family before the kids were all grown. What we discovered, to our dismay, was; we were FAT. Of course I knew on some level I was getting heavy, but the camera gave us the BIG picture. YIKES!
Well we started walking that day. One year and 40 pounds later, we crossed paths with a young woman huffing and puffing her way up the street as we were whisking toward her. With a red face and sweat rolling down, she said is it worth it? YES! we shouted in unison.
If you have a dream, take one step in that direction everyday. It won't be long until you wake up one day and realize you made it.
