We sat through a conference call yesterday while the CEO, once again told us why they couldn't follow through on promises made. It didn't increase their bottom line. Why, they appreciate all our hard work, but we need to work harder. Why they needed to spend $10,000,000.00 on new acquisitions and couldn't afford raises for the 5th year in a row.
BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. I know what's right and what's wrong. Unfortunately, money makes the world go round these days. Money overrides the health of the peoples of the world. The food lobbies for companies that are poisoning us in name of the almighty dollar. Employers who crack the whip and take away benefits in the name of acquisitions. The middle class is being obliterated while the rich get richer and the hard working force in this country and other "developed countries" are being drowned in debt and crushed by the "masters".
Matthew 25:23 ESV tells us: "His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’"
At this I have to say, all I can do is let go of the outrage and indignation of it all and trust God to take care of my needs. To focus on who and what really matters. I am truly thankful to be one of the workers of the world and not one of the greedy echelon.
Fantasizing peace and freedom from rancor in the face of injustice and greed.
