People talk about the horrors of on-line dating. I just wonder if we couldn't do away with it, if people would simply look up at the world around them. The wonderful people who are actually living life.
There are so many lonely people, in an age, where we can communicate with the world at the click of a key. I actually stare at those people, enthralled with their device, while walking toward me on the street, to see if I get a glimmer of recognition. 100% of the time they pass right by without even the awareness of another human being.
Video games, texting, e-mail, on-line shopping, everything automated to the point where humanity has been all but erased from society. No wonder people are killing each other without a thought.
Time flies by so quickly, I'll bet, all of us can relate to being on the computer for hours without even realizing it. Time we'll never get back. Call a friend or relative, actually here their voice. Go out to visit, put the phone down the entire time you are conversing.
Life could be so rich and full of joy, if only we would take the time to open the door and step outside without any devices. None of us is so important that the world will stop if we don't get a call, a text, an e-mail. Turn it off! Look up and really live.
Fantasizing the freedom from the trap of devices.
