I don't really know where to start. I've been making a lot of trips to Goodwill, just not enough. There's big stuff, little stuff, meaningful stuff, old stuff and new stuff. My stuff, his stuff, cat stuff, kids stuff.
I guess just one thing at a time, dedicate myself to one room at a time and get it done. It's amazing how much stuff I've saved over the years that I thought would mean something to me later on. Like a newspaper from a big earthquake in LA in the 90's. Old newspapers I published my first articles in. Kitchen appliances I thought would be cool, used for a month or two and stuck in a cupboard, out of sight, out of mind.
At the beginning of any journey, the task looks daunting. Psalm 105:4 - 5 4 "Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face continually. 5 Remember His wonders which He has done, His marvels and the judgments uttered by His mouth,"
I must remember all God has done for me in the past. Turned tragedy and mayhem into blessings unknown. I also know anything worth having is worth working for.
As I visualize the end result of purging myself of all this meaningless clutter, it makes me smile. Peace and serenity. Beautiful surroundings to be enjoyed. Now, let the work begin!
Fantasizing the freedom from clutter!
