Luckily for me, God has given me a get up and go spirit. So that is what I'm doing. It never ceases to amaze me how God shows up as soon as I take that first step.
Friday, I got done at work early. My husband and I went browsing through Goodwill and I, almost absentmindedly, threw a small, bright green book in the cart. I hadn't intended to even look at the books because I have a stack still waiting to be read.
This book was written in 1989 by Catherine Ponder: "Open your mind to receive". Last night, I couldn't sleep, I also couldn't get that book out of my mind. So, at 3 am, I got up, made a cup of tea and picked it up.
Inside, was just what I needed to begin my journey out of this pit. One thing kept nagging at me; Ms. Ponder kept referring to "the mind of Christ". I wondered if this is a term I was comfortable with.
Around 4 am, I turned on Beth Moore, who is a powerful Bible teacher and funny to boot. Didn't she read a scripture to ease my mind?: "For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ." 1 Corinthians 2:16. POW
With that, I'll let you ponder what it means to us as human beings and children of God. As for me, I'm climbing out of the most recent pit and thank God it was a shallow one. As I've said many times before, it's the first step that leads to your dreams.
Fantasizing the freedom to believe; "God is who he says he is, does what he says he will do. I am who He says I am; redeemed, chosen, adopted and forgiven!!!" Beth Moore, "Believing God".
