It's true even though it can be humiliating or stifling at times, it's important to realize, as the song says; WE ALL fall down sometimes. It's in the getting back up we become winners.
I've recently experienced a rather humiliating and disheartening fall. One that hurt not only me, but my family, co-workers and friends. The difference with this fall is; I've finally realized, beating myself up about it doesn't help anyone or change the situation.
I am now recovering and feel stronger than ever. Doing the work can be daunting, but oh, so rewarding. As long as one can learn more about themselves from the fall, it is not in vain. We all have our own demons to conquer, our own weaknesses.
It's in the courage to look in the mirror and forgive yourself, you can move forward. I am learning I can be of help to someone else, sick and suffering, if I can show them it's not the end of it all, it's simply a new beginning. Another opportunity to grow and become more of who you really are.
What we all are at the core; men and women of God. His view of us is so much grander than our own. I try to think of how I see my own children; strong, brilliant, wonderful with so much potential. Their failings and struggles, in my eyes, only show what will make them strong in the end.
We cannot have a testimony without a test. Be the best you, you can be. There is only one me, only one you. Your life matters in so many unknown ways. One day we will see just how our existence has affected the world, either for good or evil. It is up to us to make the choice.
Fantasizing the freedom to be me and leave the world a better place than I found it.
