If it were up to me, I would have what I wanted when I wanted it. I would also, most likely, be a spoiled, shallow, selfish person.
I am most grateful and thankful I didn't get everything I ever wanted. You see, God knows best, what's best for me.
In the world today, children are largely given whatever they want when they want it. I believe this is a much overlooked form of child abuse. They never learn to wait, or better yet, work for what they want. It's all handed to them. It's scary to ponder our future, at least here in America, when these young people are responsible for our country. They have no back bone, no stick-to-itness or investment in what they have.
I have learned patience over the years. It is a quality you develop, not receive. It is hard won with perseverance through trials and tribulations. Believing in yourself, your dreams and aspirations, no matter what.
With the work and the wait, many of my dreams have come to pass. They usually come in forms I would never have thought of, but come they did. Press on and run the race. It's in the journey you find riches. Your dreams will weave in and out through the landscape of your path. They will change and grow, or be replaced by new ones.
Today I am dreaming big, God's in charge of how my dreams come to pass. Fantasizing the freedom to work and wait without angst.
