Often, making a poor decision isn't life threatening. At least not immediately. There are decisions in life that have the power to alter your trajectory so much, where you end up is way off course.
I tried to teach my children to listen to their "gut". Not only listen, but follow through accordingly. I wasn't taught to trust myself. The messages I received growing up were just the opposite. Consequently, I've made some costly choices I would not have made, had I listened to my "gut".
If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you will know His voice. John 8:12 "Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." Ask for His leading and then follow your "gut" or the leading of the spirit in you.
Faith is following the leading of the spirit, even if it looks scary. Especially if it looks scary. It seems to me, the perception of the Christian life is boring. I'm here to tell you, it is anything but boring. If I follow where Jesus leads me, and I try to, life is the biggest roller coaster ride. If I let go of the fear and hold my hands up over my head and let her rip. There is no limit to the excitement and joy life will deliver.
Fantasizing the freedom to let Jesus lead me on the ride of my life!
