As I look back, I can see, those were the very things that gave me strength and opportunities I wouldn't otherwise have. I know it's a conundrum. But, true non-the-less.
We all go through hard, stressful, scary things in this life. It is inevitable. When you find yourself in the middle of it, step back a moment and just hand it over to God. There are things we are not equipped to deal with on our own.
I have found it amazing to sit back and watch God's hand at work in my life, just when I feel like it's about to all, fall apart. Chances are, if you have faith, it is not falling apart, but falling in place.
One such time was shortly after my mother died in 1987. My husband and I decided to move from the big city to raise our children in a small town. First, my mothers death, to me was a catastrophe, the move was difficult and we, first, ended up in Jackson, Mississippi, which was a nightmare. Eventually, we came to settle in Venice, FL which is were we've been now for 27 years.
When we got here, it was like coming home from the very first moment. There have been several equally difficult circumstances along the way and each one has held an open door at the end. So, if you're going through something today, take heart. Ask for help and relax in knowing it is coming. Fantasizing the freedom to trust God in all things and enjoy the journey.
