I'm sure ya'll could name a few as well. Sometimes it's the journey that is the reward in itself. The people you meet, the skills learned, experience and so much more. Even if the prize is not won, you have still won.
I can look back over my life and note several failures. I think failures are just one way God says, no, go this way. I say that be cause, even the so called, failures in my life were stepping stones. They provided, among other things, college pre-requisites I wouldn't otherwise had, experience that helps me in my career of choice everyday, a strong body, soul and spirit.
The act of moving through something to the conclusion is a reward in itself. Several years ago, my daughter joined the Air Force. They sent a DVD of some of her basic training. In that footage was a shot of her scaling a wall. WOW, that's my girl. Strong and determined, fighting her demons. It was a hard experience to go through for her, but she came out of it strong and beautiful. Her life has never been the same, Praise the Lord.
We all come up against walls in our lives. I believe, the vast majority of people, turn and go another way. The so called easier way. But is it? I think not. For taking the "easy way" takes you on a long, tiresome journey full of pits and ruts, where many times you get stuck and stay. Never reaching the "promised land".
Scale that wall and see what wonders await you on the other side. One thing is for sure, you will come out of it stronger, standing taller and ready to take on the next obstacle in your life. And there will be more obstacles.
Fantasizing the freedom to always scale that wall.
