I remember some years ago, my son had a sky boat. He was big into wake boarding. I decided, at my heaviest mind you, (yes, I was a chunky monkey!) it would be great to try it. Well, it wasn't pretty, I face planted approximately 5-6 times, got up once only to go over on my face again. I did have to give up eventually, not because I was embarrassed; my face just hurt.
Oh, the things we miss out on because we say no, simply out of fear. These past couple years I've been learning to have fun. Saying yes to kick ball, line dancing, and a variety of other endeavors in the process. I haven't found myself to be a protégé at any of these activities, but boy have I laughed.
Learning to laugh at myself, I think, was the first step in laughing out loud at lots of things. So, say yes to something you think might be fun, especially if your scared. Hell, do it because your scared. You'll soon realize fear is simply False Evidence Appearing Real.
Fantasizing the freedom to try new things and laugh at myself with all the others.
